3 Smokin' Salsa Recipes: Let's get spicy!


With more sunny days ahead comes poolside extravaganzas! This is especially good when you have a legit floatie to lounge around in while you absorb that Vita D. And when I think of my fave poolside snack, the first thing that comes to mind is salsa and chips! Check out the below recipes to bring out the best acheee waa waa in you!

The LUX Habanero / Pack a punch and ey yei yei!



3 fresh jalapeños
2 onions finely chopped
2 tablespoons garlic, minced
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 (7 ounce) can diced green chile pepper
1/2 cup minced fresh cilantro, 2 limes juiced
7 (15 ounce) cans canned tomatoes
1 habanero pepper (seeded)

Directions: Roast jalapenos over a grill until completely blackened. Seal in a plastic bag or a bowl covered with plastic wrap, and allow to steam until skins are loosened. When cool, remove skin, stem and seeds.

Place jalapenos, onions, garlic, salt and pepper into the bowl of a blender or food processor. Pulse to chop and blend, then pour into a large bowl, and mix in with the can of green chiles, cilantro, and lime juice. Pulse the tomatoes in batches and add to green chile mixture. Return one cup of chopped tomatoes to the blender along with the habanero, and puree well. Strain the puree to remove any large pieces of habanero and added juice, and add to the tomatoes. Mix well, cover, and chill in the refrigerator at least one hour to allow flavors to blend into a mix of spicy goodness.

Lawry's Garlic Salt
10 tomatillos, husked, rinsed, and quartered
2 serrano chiles, stemmed
1 clove garlic
¼ small white onion, thinly sliced
½ cup cilantro leaves
1 avocado, halved, pitted (Always feel free to add more)

Directions: Place tomatillos, chiles, garlic, and onion in blender, and pulse until vegetables break down and mixture is still slightly chunky. Add cilantro, avocado, and salt and continue to pulse until salsa is blended and creamy but still has some texture. Pour into a serving bowl, and refrigerate until ready to use. Before serving, sprinkle in some Lawry's Garlic Salt to taste!

2 cups chopped pitted peeled mango
1 cup chopped red bell pepper
2/3 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
4 teaspoons olive oil

Directions: Mix all ingredients in small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Dive in!
